The Crown Inn, Stoke by Nayland, Suffolk

Reopened in November 2003 after extensive refurbishment, the choice of dining areas promises conviviality and varying degrees of cosiness and privacy, whatever your mood. The Crown sources, wherever possible, local produce for a regularly evolving menu and fishboard.

Traditional ales, a passionate collection of wines (28 by the glass) and the wineshop where you are welcome to explore further our shared passion. Stylish and relaxed surroundings... we will leave the rest to the imagination.

I am delighted to announce that the AA has given us a ‘TWO ROSETTE’ award.

AA inspectors annually award Rosettes or not as is often the case to restaurants for the quality of their food. To be given one is a very high accolade, but two means that we are one of a select few and I quote:

“To be given two rosettes you are one of the best local restaurants, offering higher standards and better consistency. Greater precision is apparent in the cooking, and there is obvious attention to the quality and selection of ingredients.”

This will go live on the Internet in a couple of weeks but will not go in the guide until next year (2008).
